Let’s be honest. I am a white privileged woman with much more human rights that I don’t have to fight for. I was born this way. I was raised this way. Traveling to Europe in my teenage times made me see how racist the world can be, how unfair and cruel the world can be. After Russia started to invade Ukraine, it was the biggest starting point of never be indifferent ever again to what is happening around you, even if you think it does not concern you. Because it does. Nowadays we are not only fighting for human lives, climate change and hunger crises. We are also fighting for the human rights and especially for the rights of Islamic women. If they have no right to speak, we will speak for them. If they have no right to scream, we will scream for them. Being killed, raped or treated like an object, because you uncover your hair is not normal, it shouldn’t be. It’s another reminder that the world is not free from patriarchy and parochialism.
