“I’ll always be a slobbering idiot for people I love: the Grifters, Patti Smith, the new Ginsberg boxed set, MC5,” Jeff once said. “I listen to Sun Ra. Kiss. Led Zeppelin. Bad Brains. Shudder to Think. Tom Waits. Lou Reed.” As a child of the mix-tape era, Jeff used the format to make compilations and keep track of song drafts and his own live recordings.
