My name is Haylee Fulla, and I’m 11 years old. At just 4 years old, I was diagnosed with Severe Crohn’s Disease , a chronic and often invisible illness that has changed my life forever. Living with Crohn’s is not easy. It’s a constant battle to manage my symptoms, to explain to others what I’m going through, and to deal with the emotional toll of feeling like I’m missing out. But I want you to know that I’m more than my illness. I’m a bright, curious, and determined kid who loves life, despite the challenges I face. To my family, friends, and community, I want to thank you for your love and support. It means the world to me. But I also want to ask you to understand that some days are harder than others. Some days, I may need to cancel plans or take a break. Please don’t take it personally; it’s just my body needing a little extra care. To those who may not understand what it’s like to live with an invisible illness, I want to ask you to be patient and kind. Don’t assume that I’m “fine” just because I look okay. Ask me how I’m really doing, and listen to my answer. And to anyone who may be going through a similar experience, I want you to know that you’re not alone. I see you, I hear you, and I believe in you. Keep fighting, keep pushing forward, and know that there is hope and support out there. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
