Viva San Martino! November 11th marks the Feast Day of Saint Martin of Tours, a 4th-century bishop who has been venerated since medieval times. In Venice the devotion to Martin remains strong and on each November 11, Venetian children celebrate with a traditional decorated cookie in the shape of the saint on horseback and by parading through the city clanging pot lids, singing, and asking for coins in remembrance of Martin's charitable deeds.
