In late October 2021, a massive X1-class solar flare erupted from the sun, sending a vast cloud of charged particles toward the Earth. This explosive event resulted in an incredible geomagnetic solar storm and an epic, haunting Halloween spectacle in the sky known as Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. I happened to be traveling around Vestrahorn, an iconic mountain in south-east Iceland 🇮🇸 at the time, and I was incredibly lucky to witness the surreal, colorful, electric ribbons of light dancing overhead. I’d never seen nor photographed the Aurora and I was in shock at what I was seeing and feeling all around and above me.
