Today is my second, soul-filling day off in the beautiful Berkshires! Full honesty: I entered this gig with full-blown burnout after a exciting, busy, and exhausting first season back after COVID cancellations. This season was filled with last minute jobs, COVID-complications, international travel, big personal life changes, and important debuts. While I’m so grateful for everything 21-22 brought my way, I wasn’t sure how much energy I could bring to this Don Giovanni debut... BUT, after a week and a half up here, I’m so glad to say that I feel energized, rejuvenated, and inspired by this beautiful place, incredible group of colleagues, and glorious music. Turns out... a month in the Berkshires, singing Mozart, and working with @berkshireoperafest is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. I’m enjoying a lovely day off with a morning run, FaceTimeing with the fabulous @rebeccasjowall, score study, and rest.
