JULIANNE! For me, capturing a person’s essence in a video portrait should feel textural, and multi dimensional. I wanted this video to feel like a fragmented memory, exploring how a person’s relationship with oneself is constantly evolving from different perspectives while simultaneously feeling the same, and somewhat repetitive. I wanted to expand this idea further but there were some time restraints. I love working with DP @jameschristopherhenry because he is a master at creating depth in frame, and is constantly pushing innovative ways of creating fragmented strobes of light (all in camera). He was always so generous with me in terms of being able to experiment. Most of this sequence was actually shot in a tiny bathroom of a wall paper factory. I recently took some time to create an edited redux cut down from the original piece “Knowing Remembers”. None of this would be possible without @vsmag - so grateful for this opportunity to shoot one of the most emotive and soul capturing faces in the biz! Also, shoutout to @capturethisnyc for consistently supporting and providing resources & @jack_shanahan_dp - and yet more brilliant scoring by @dannybensi @thesaunz
