(001) JAKE DUPONT. CANAL STREET SESSIONS. A personal project shot downtown on Canal St with my good friend @benjoneshair who worked on hair and make-up. We wanted to create a series of portraits inspired by go-see’s. Having a series of different people come in to get their portrait This project intermixes with an on-going exercise I like to do as a photographer - where I set up the studio and have different subjects come in to get their picture taken. No styling, no hair, no make up, just the models dressed as they feel best represents them. It’s my way of connecting and engaging with the fast-changing youth and fashion culture in NYC. My overall goal is to capture and highlight organic moments - capturing my subjects at their most genuine. Thank you to the 20+ people who came and spent some time in front of my camera. <3
