The New York-based Salzburg Festival Society held a spectacular gala to mark 100 years of American support for the Salzburg Festival at Schloss Leopoldskron (recognizable from the 1965 film The Sound of Music and once home of Max Reinhardt, the Austrian-born director and producer who founded the festival in 1920). Guests enjoyed the entertainment of the acclaimed baritone Erwin Schrott, a meal prepared by 5-star chef Andreas Dollerer, and toasted with Roederer Champagne—all paired with Hallstein Water. “The Salzburg Festival is a wonderful institution with an incredible history that we Austrians can all be very proud of,” noted event co-chair and Hallstein co-founder Elisabeth Muhr.
