I have been on a lot of stages being interviewed about my book this past week both at @gyldendal @louisianamuseum & @bogforum . I’ve looked happy, performed well and always manage to show up and do the work. But inside I’ve been dealing with huge anxiety attacks and my OCD has been showing it’s ugly face. No matter how hard work I’ve been doing for years with cognitive therapy it just sometimes manages to overwhelm me. I know my mental state also makes me the artist that I am. But I’m not the best at showing my own weakness, and my subjects always shows me theirs. So here’s a post of me looking happy (as I can be in moments between the attacks) just to show you guys that a smile on an Instagram post often is so far from reality. This next year I’m going to start new projects focusing on mental health. We need to talk more openly about this. Here’s me giving it a go.
