I was out of commission for a week after going through a bad fibromyalgia flare, paired with a possible sinus infection. Hopefully, I'll have some decent answers by Friday. Today's my first day back at the gym after crying about not doing the Brooklyn Half Marathon over the weekend. The combination of missing out on a dope race and feeling horrible did a number on my mental health. I caught a bit of a break this afternoon, and yes, I went to my happy place: the gym. Hubby and I knocked out barbell squats, deadlifts, core, and mobility work. I've been going through SI (sacroiliac joint) pain for about a year, but I'm actively working on it with a stretch therapist. I scaled back my deadlifts by 30 to 40 percent since I haven't touched the gym since last Tuesday and went as high as 355 lbs in my squats today; hubby is at 245 lbs. 🥰 I'm grateful for the little things and eternally thankful to not be in as much pain as I was in the last 30 years. Despite disabilities, I love that I'm finding ways to persevere. In the meantime, I'm enjoying these low mileage weeks and heavy lifts until mid-June.
