It’s been a week since my whirlwind trip to document Chuck Sperry’s incredible art retrospective at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and I’m still glowing with good vibes from meeting and interacting with Chuck’s loyal fans who attended that weekend’s events. I couldn’t have met a more positive, enthusiastic, patient, curious and kinder group of folks. To stand with them in the different galleries displaying Chuck’s works throughout his career, I couldn’t help but feel a little proud to have played a small part in helping it happen. Especially seeing those who picked up a copy (or three) of the massive Color x Color book, the third and most comprehensive art book Chuck and I worked on. Congratulations to Chuck Sperry & curator Josef Zimmerman for a stunning exhibition, and thanks to them as well as the Fort Wayne Museum of Art for having me out there to be a part of it. And shout out to Carlo McCormick for the afterparty stories. I’m truly grateful for you all.
