Up at 4am this morning thinking about one of my favorite quotes of all time by one of the people in my life that inspires me the most @diandramarizet Too many thoughts going through my head this week to sleep. Too many different emotions brought out by SXSW to feel grounded in the moments with my friends and community. The only folks talking about hope are corporate asshats with no relationships with the lived reality of those on the front lines of the climate and ecological crisis. Almost everyone speaking truth to power and that is here to expand movements for the liberation and regeneration of communities and ecosystems are tired, skeptical, and preparing for the worst effects of climate change. We must follow Diandra's words and connect deeply to others who have positive outlooks in spite of the pain they have felt and seen. Those who hope even when their reasons to do so seem slim. We must strengthen our communities ourselves, so much so that no European fossil fuel fuckboys can make us question our work in building an abundant, equitable, and intersectional future for all people.
