Yesterday, President Biden ✨thought✨ he did something BIG to repair the harms of the War on Drugs with his executive order. But when you dig into the details, it’s the furthest thing from bold, sustainable action. Not one, we repeat, NOT A SINGLE PERSON will be released from federal prison due to his action. Why? Because most of these convictions occur at the state level. It’s a step in the right direction, but it’s not anywhere near where we should be. We must stop selling incremental change as something equivalent to moving mountains.
