POV Boosting your kids self-esteem Our kids attend a PWI and unfortunately their are overt and covert attacks on their self worth and self esteem. So we have made a point to speak life into them, and boost their self esteem/ confidence by encouraging them to always show up as their authentic selves. The people that accept that will be their people, true friends. Although these schools have hired Black teachers and offer financial assistance many just are not are doing the work, to make Black children feel seen. So the work we do at home is even more important to the formal education they receive. We have to layer it on, make them resilient, confident and their true selves.
