Sometimes it’s the simplest setups that become the most compelling visuals. Here is a clip from a YSL Beauté video I directed lensed by @jack_shanahan_dp, Jack remember when we were handling “pyrotechnics” in the conference room?! And by “pyrotechnics” I mean my hand quivering with a lighter, figuring out the best way to burn flowers while preserving the shape. This was a big deal for me, it was the first time I got to direct something with Great Works, let alone a major fashion beauty brand. When @fcarlstrom gave me the thumbs up to shoot my concept, I was over the moon. If I remember correctly, I ended up sourcing a lot of the materials for this video at Dean & Deluca (RIP) on Broadway. This piece has a really special place in my body of work.
