--Last sunday was magic -- Visiting on of the historical monuments of german winemaking @weingut_kloster_eberbach - an once in a lifetime tasting ! Now and before i am very thankful for that invitation. The Asmannshäuser Höllenberg Spätburgunder out of 1925, 1935, 1943, 1959, 1963 really inspiring to see how much elegance, deepness, complexity and freshness this terroir can transport throughout all these years... I mean a hundred year old wine. ... The Action wines flight - where the 2015 Asmannshäuser Höllenberg Spätburgunder GG VDP.GROSSE Lage really changed something, because after tasting the first flight and it's complexity, i became more and more a hint where the journey is suppose to go... Monumental was 1935 - to taste 1935 Eltviller Steinmächer Riesling 1935 Hattenheimer Mannberg Riesling 1935 Rüdesheimer Hinterhaus Riesling Auslese 1935 Rauenthaler Baiken Riesling Beerenauslese The grande final was an Icewine tasting - seven wines of 1985...harvested on 1. January 1986... Something what for me only german Riesling can - a huge definition of complexity, sweetness and acidity.
