repost • @t.j._mcgrath_design With these compost ready dahlia I wanted to give them one last moment in the spotlight. I wanted the feeling to be reminiscent of a crisp, breezy autumn walk where the falling leaves are swirling about, like a floating kaleidoscope. The end result...Meh, aimed, shot and missed the mark...more of a photography miss I think than the design execution itself, but you be the judge of that. I was reminded by Ingrid @tincanstudios during her install class at The Sustainable Flowers Project, back in September, that I myself, often prefer an install to have a place of origin or grounding element. Ingrid does it brilliantly and conceptually time and time again. I am growing and trying to remember my name most days, so that little nugget reminder from Ingrid was poignant for me and I keep it close. Mechanics here, water in the urn all other elements just flying about in chicken wire. If you’re looking to invest in floral design education, don’t be afraid to ask questions; you are entitled to know if the educator is confident in their expertise, that the mechanics they teach in the classroom setting, are also executed in the work that pays the bills. You must feel comfortable going in to an educational setting, that you’ll get back what you’re hoping for. I spend quite bit of time with each person who books a 1:1 making sure my teaching style/offerings are a good fit for everyone; and I prefer students actively investigate that too. Now...cheers to your weekend! . Blooms: @hautau_and_sons
