The first year of Celia Lou Mollick’s life has been a crazy beautiful fever dream. She’s lived on two coasts, made a million friends in both the human and animal kingdoms, clapped her hands over and over at her own cute behavior and everyone else’s, taken eight plane rides, gone to more outdoor restaurants and parties than many do in a lifetime (and knows the name of every bartender and barista in town), survived Covid, pitted her 9 godfathers against each other in a battle to be the best godfather, snuggled her hundred aunties, had a gazillion visits from grandparents and cousins and neighbors and her village and so much more. Her mom, meanwhile, has made a bunch of things she’s proud of this year... but she’s most proud of her incredible daughter. In a literal sense; my heart has had to heal. In a metaphorical sense... it is stronger and fuller than it has ever been. Happy first birthday, Celia. Mama loves you.
