BIRTH STORY PART 1....
I was in prelabor for about 2 days. Irregular ‘light’ contractions day and night preparing me slowly for what was to come. I was able to practice my breathing, able to trust my body and the process of transformation . We were planning to have a home birth so we had the guest house all set up with candles, crystals and all the energy I needed . When the first ‘real’ contraction came I was reminded just how painful they are (I might have said the f... word ooops) Not so easy to breath calmly anymore 😅 my friends were already impatient sending me messages every day and asking ...’aaaaaand’ so I send them ‘ yup I think we are ON’ this was at around 6 pm. Luckily my best friend Simi was in town and she came up to be with the kids around 7:30 , so Oddy and I could focus. Until 9:30, I was in the main house with the kids, playing games, pottering around tidying up the kitchen after dinner etc. Every time a contraction came the Oddy and the kids whispered sweet words to me and stroked my back. So far so good. But with every contraction the pain got a bit more intense . I had to remind myself that a contraction usually lasts 3 looong breaths so the pain will come and go. After each wave of pain is a sweet sweet spot of relief and calmness. Mila wasn’t in the easiest labor position, she was on my right side, which means she had to do almost a whole turn before I could birth her. So I had a good amount of back labor which - I’m not gonna lie ‘ is pretty painful... but I knew I could do it, I had it with Luca as well and regardless of how painful, each contraction brought me closer to meeting our baby...
