I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Arne Jacobsen designed Stellings Hus that is now headquarters to a great Danish knitwear brand @andersen_andersen_dk , a B. Shop staple. The building, completed in 1938, housed the Stelling’s Paint Company, with a private residence on the top floor. Note the maritime look of the design with rounded edges for door frames, terrazzo stair treads, and windows and the clever wink to paint brushstrokes in the entry terrazzo floor stripes. The interiors have been so carefully and thoughtfully preserved and vintage furniture designs by Jacobsen acquired to complete the interiors. The brand is in the process of restoring the first floor (American second floor!) for a new retail space that promises to be quite extraordinary, with the original curved glass window intact.
