this weekend felt like the good old days and it really clicked for me that finding joy in the little things you do isn’t something you do later when life is calmer or easier. It’s something you practice while life is happening. i’ve been reading this book called The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry and it’s really been speaking to me and affirming how i’ve been feeling about all the distractions and excess we face everyday. it’s so easy to get caught up in the belief that you always have to do more because society measures your worth based on how productive you are but i’ve learned it’s not worth it if you’re burning yourself out. you have to learn to tune out all the noise so you can truly listen to your body and what it needs. for me, it’s being outside in nature. I forget how much I need it until I actually slow down again. and i‘m always curious what that looks like for other people 💗
