Four excellent Barbican flats, none of which are mine (for a change). Thrillingly, my phone uploaded a couple of the photos in lower res but I did try! Pics 1-3. My neighbour @tom___morris’s barrel vault flat. These one-bed flats are slightly smaller than mine but feel so much airier and brighter as they have the semi circular window, higher ceilings and also a window in the kitchen and bathroom, which the majority of Barbican flats don’t have. You can also see the space-saving Twyfords sink, which we all have in our WCs. Tom is an interior designer (director of Morrisstudio) and has annoyingly good taste, so you should def follow him if you don’t already! Photos by @olliegtomlinson. Pic 4. A ‘type 20’ flat that was for sale via @themodernhouse. These flats are also one-bedroomed and identical to mine in layout with the exception that they have this extra L-shaped bit tacked on to the side of the living room. The third window makes the living space so much brighter and the sliding door between the two parts of the room means you can have the space open plan, or use it as an office/TV room/even a second bedroom. I love the green cupboards/desk/pinboard situation here! Pics 5-7. A tower flat renovated by Maria Speake of @retrouvius. The kitchen you see here is the original Brooke Marine one - ours is the same in terms of look and materials, just a slightly different layout (and to my great sadness, we don’t have a dishwasher). Another tower flat renovation and this time - as you can see by the kitchen - it was transformed almost beyond recognition in Japanese style (but still looks great imo). It was overhauled by Takero Shimazaki Architects and the image is by Anton Gorlenko (I can’t find either of their IG handles).
