I feel like this is a HUGE conversation that needs to be had because it’s truly getting out of hand 😭 I’m actually making a video about this whole topic but I’m taking my time to formulate my thoughts correctly. I feel qualified to draw this conclusion because it’s a problem I’ve even recognized in myself! I just read a few very insightful articles about how collecting can be a mask for shopping addiction and it made SO much sense. Overconsumption is something you have to be very careful of in any hobby because it happens without you even realizing it sometimes. The fun part of collecting is the search to find something truly special, not just accumulating stuff just to have it.
