This carpet by @juliengardair, “Les Javels” (2012), and this diptyque tapestry designed by Henri Matisse, “Polynésie: Le Ciel” (1964), were on display in the Marble Room and lobby of the Villa Albertine headquarters, and while we’re bidding a fond adieu to “Les Javels” today, the Matisse tapestry will stay on display for another year. Last night, the president of Mobilier National @HervéLemoine paid these pieces a special visit and spoke with associate curator at @metmuseum Wolf Burchard about the rich history of Mobilier National, which oversees all the furnishing of the official spaces of the republic.
