I was obsessed with tennis. I traveled around and even won some trophies. I played with a lot of anger. I was only happy when I won, and practicing was just a vehicle for winning. It was a vicious cycle. I hurled my racket over a fence during a tournament in Virginia. I had to walk around behind the courts to find it nestled in cow crap. Pretty embarrassing stuff. Soccer helped me love sports again. Building community. Sharing. Elevating each other through teamwork. Winning stopped being a focal point. Thanks soccer.
