Less than a week left to go until @icplasticsurg’s anticipated Emergencies in #plasticsurgery event.. For those of you joining us, you’ll get to meet my wonderful mentor from #shocktrauma - Dr Arthur Nam! I learnt a great deal during my stint there and I have so much respect for Dr Nam, who was an incredible supervisor; he was patient, kind, fair and had an abundance of knowledge to impart. It was truly an honour to be taught by the best and I am grateful he’s joining us here in London for our new event! Shock trauma is the US’ first and only fully-integrated #trauma hospital and #baltimore being the city it is (for those of you who have watched ‘the wire’ that is where I spent 5 weeks 😂), there is a great deal of trauma from gang-related violence and people who unfortunately get in the way of the crossfire. During his time there, Dr Nam has dealt with many complex reconstructive cases including facial fractures, gunshot wounds to the face or anywhere else - I can’t think of a better speaker to introduce the topics of facial fractures & gsw management to all of you. I’m really excited to catch up with him again as apart from being a great plastic surgeon he really is just such a wonderful person and is also always full of surprises 😂 For those of you who are still deliberating.. we only have 7 tickets left, so what are you waiting for 😉 Also a shoutout to @wusterying who was my partner in crime at shock trauma. He can’t join us this time but hopefully his sub-i stint is going extremely well and I’ll see him next when he’s a plastic surgery resident 😊 (To the program directors: He’s an excellent candidate and will be a great addition to any unit..your loss if you pass him up!!)
