I will be opening my recent project of photographs made on and around the Louisiana plantations “In This Here Place” and the 3-channel video work “Evergreen” at Prospect.5 @prospect_nola ‘Yesterday We Said Tomorrow’ in New Orleans at The Historic New Orleans Collection on October 23rd. The work looks at five of the the sites of the formative relationship between enslaved Africans, who became African Americans, and this country. That relationship continues to have contemporary reverberations, and the history remains embedded in the architecture, land, air, and waters of these landscapes.
