While the global fast fashion industry continues to grow in revenue and forecast record breaking statistics, workers around the world are still facing poor working conditions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In many cases, factories are located in unsafe buildings with no access to clean water or proper ventilation. Workers are often exposed to dangerous chemicals and are required to work long hours in extreme heat. As a result of these conditions, workers often suffer from serious health problems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The U.S. Department of Labor reports that in Los Angeles, more than 50,000 mostly immigrant women work in clothing production. And 85% of factories violate labor laws, federal wage, and hour laws.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite the industry's growth, workers' wages have not increased, leaving them trapped in a cycle of poverty. These conditions are unacceptable and must be addressed in order to ensure that workers can live and work with dignity. An Oxfam 2019 report found that 0% of Bangladeshi garment workers and 1% of Vietnamese garment workers earned a living wage.

How do you think we can hold these companies accountable?
