!!️POSTPARTUM HEART FAILURE!!️ A year ago today, I was discharged from the hospital after having my daughter via C-section. I had absolutely no clue, 14 hours later I would be back in the hospital struggling to breath. I knew my body wasn’t right. I felt way too swollen. I was hurting more than I did with the others. I tried to tell my doctors it was giving me a lot of anxiety. They chalked it up to PTSD and assured me that my swelling was totally normal. I didn’t feel normal but I must be fine since the doctor said it’s normal. We’re taught to just not argue and go on our marry way because MOST people are fine. Clearly I wasn’t. I went into heart failure shortly after this. Thankfully I wasn’t diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy officially, but I’ll be sharing about my journey in the coming days of how it all went down as I process the first anniversary of this trauma.
