We had a frost this morning... this was last night after @daph_infection and I harvested everything we could so we could photograph the few of the dahlias we needed to. Daphne strategized and set up sprinklers around the dahlia field to get the most coverage. We fired them up on at 1am and this morning they were covered in ice, and while that sounds terrible, that’s exactly what we wanted! The ice, somehow, protects the plants from the cold, dry air and when the sun comes out, it thaws out the ice and the plants are virtually intact. It’s fascinating. We’re hoping to get a few more weeks of dahlia blooms, so ill be sharing more images of the beauty soon.
