What a legend. Suunto ambassador @wllltrubridge has blown it out of the water again with his latest successful world record attempt, adding even more weight to his previous 18 world records. 🤩 2023 laps later, Willliam set a new world record for endurance swimming underwater by completing a distance of 51,575m on a breath hold, with no propulsive assistance. Covering the distance in a 25m pool in Nassau, Bahamas, William hopes to promote awareness about the mental health crisis that the world is facing today and to announce the imminent launch of The Mental Immune System. Created by William, the video series aims to program the subconscious mind with tools that help move past anxiety, stress, and depression. Billed as an attempt at an Underwater Marathon, William’s first goal was to break the current world record of 26.35km, with the idea of trying to challenge the 42.2km marathon distance. Reaching this mark with 4 hours remaining, Wiliam powered through the wall of exhaustion and nausea to make it 50km more, eventually going 23 laps past that distance to finish with the number of laps of the coming year: 2023. Go, Will! 🏆 📸 Freediver @willtrubridge Images 1 & 2: @free_fields Images 3, 4 & 5: @andremusgrove #suuntodive #AdventureStartsHere #guinnessworldrecord #dynamicapnea #dnf #freediving #worldrecord #endurance
