My newest favorite product. Not the sexiest but seriously perfect. It has a great gel cream texture and I blend it with my Tretinoin 0.02% Gel before application to reduce irritation and dryness. I like to use it as a diluting or cutting gel for products that are a little too potent for my sensitive skin. It doesn't have any heavy occlusive agents so it won't hinder ingredient penetration significantly. Based on my guesses from the ingredient deck it contains: -my favorite emulsifier blend Polyaquol 2W. It creates liquid crystal structures, is proven to protect and repair skin barrier, reduces TEWL, and can create a wide range of textures. It prevents UV induced skin barrier disruption and accelerates barrier recovery post UV exposure. It is also ecocert and extremely easy to work with. To me this is a sexy functional -Carnosine: a highly underrated ingredient that protects against oxidative stress and glycation. It is a biomimetic peptide with antioxidant properties. Also protects against infrared induced damages (Sunscreens filters protect skin from UV damage but you can still experience oxidative damage from infrared and visible light.) -nontraditional preservative blend: love this combo. Symbol 68 (1,2 hexanediol+caprylyl glycol) and pentylene glycol (can work as a penetration enhancer) -hydrogenated lecithin: helps with delivery of the ceramides and improves ease of formulating with ceramides. -squalane, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, phytosterols.
