another day, another concert...it’s happy hour again🤍 • The sounds of Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott’s music have always been heard throughout our house, these are artists we were brought up on. I used to download their cds onto my iPod & listen to them on the school bus. This gig was mine & @_annabelmarie_ fourth time seeing them but the first in a stadium venue like this & the closest we’ve ever been to the stage at a gig this size. They were supported by @the proclaimers (absolute classics) & @thelathums who I started listening to when they were announced for this gig & their music went straight onto my on repeat playlist. All three of them were brilliant & I loved seeing them. Paul & Jacqui never fail to put on a set that makes for a great night & atmosphere🎶 • Accessibility at Eco Power Stadium: yet again, another venue who thinks the disabled platform should be right at the back with obstructed views from the sound/light tent & only allow one +1. We was told the platform would be near the front where my family could stand close by so it was disappointing to find this was not the case. We decided to stay together in “pitch standing” & as we were there early we went to the front. A new experience being in a chair in the pit but thankfully we had a good group of people round us who made a lil barrier so we was able to enjoy the gig without being climbed over. There was only one disabled porta-loo back outside the venue at the very end of the row which struggled to fit my chair in, there was no room. The experience of disabled concert goers needs to be thought about more & equalised to those who are able bodied.
