@trina.spear, co-founded @wearfigs in 2010 to modernize the $10 billion medical-apparel industry, and sell stylish, functional scrubs directly to healthcare workers. By 2018, the Santa Monica-based company had grown 9,948 percent over the past three years, and ranked No. 21 on that year's #Inc5000 list. Two years later, as Figs began to prepare for its IPO, which debuted in May of 2021, Spear met Meg Whitman, who'd blazed a trail for woman executives by serving as CEO of giants like eBay, and Hewlett Packard.
