From Accra to Atlanta, bienvenue to Essé Dabla-Attikpo, the first resident of the Bridge Residency project! Organized in partnership between Villa Albertine and @adama_atl, the Bridge Residency project creates new points of access and interaction between the various experiences of Africans and African descendants in Atlanta. Originally from Togo and Benin and now based in Accra, Essé Dabla-Attikpo is an independent curator and art consultant. Her project, “Black Gaze, Black Bodies,” will explore representations of Black masculinity, culminating in an empowering multimedia exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, that will take the form of a call-and-response cultural exchange.
