What an incredible portrait of my kiddo Mars by @jessefreidin as part of his “Are You OK?” project. Jesse traveled all over the country for this photography project documenting trans kids and their families/loved ones and their experiences with anti-trans legislation. We were part of the Houston group. I love the expression on Mars’s face: so determined, assured, confident. And kinda badass. When Mars was a toddler, their favorite phrase was, “I do it!” That independent streak is still evident, and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.
