today I turn 29...and I’m not usually one for long captions but here goes nothin. 28 was a year full of big change. even for someone who thrives on it. I officially let go of my career as a lawyer and embraced the nonprofit world after a loooot of time spent thinking about what’s important to me, where my values lie, and most importantly, what makes me happy and how I could sustainably incorporate that in my work life. I also found out we were moving to an island thousands of miles away - leaving behind people and places and friends I consider family. and then my entire life flipped upside down in the best way because i got over my fear of judgment + posted a silly little video on here. I gained a community here, signed with the best management company ever (shout out @upsidedowntalent ) and suddenly found myself in a new space. a space where i can create and share my life in a purposeful way - and make an income doing it. (this still blows my mind). I’ve had opportunities arise I never ever thought possible, I’ve made friends who inspire me daily, and i get to connect with all of you!! how cool is that. every sweet message, comment, question make my days a little brighter. anyway, I suppose this is all to say that it’s never too late - to change careers, to move, to try that new thing you’re afraid of - doesn’t matter if you’re 22 or 28 or 38 or 65. it’s better to know you tried and it didn’t work out or it wasn’t what you expected. but I’m willing to bet it might be better than you ever expected. I have a feeling 29 is going to be a really incredible year. I can’t wait to share it with you. so happy birthday to me - and a million thank yous to you, for being here and giving me the opportunity to live the life I only ever dreamed about.
