I remember it like it was yesterday, the day I was told a job that I thought I had in the bag, fell through. This job was my Plan A to get us through a very uncertain time in our life as we made a bold decision to "get back into God's will for our lives". I didn't have a plan B, so we had to humble ourselves BIG TIME. I went on the hunt for a new job. And, Natasha filled out forms to see if we qualified for food stamps. After filling out the forms, they required us to go in to the office for an in person interview. I'll never forget the look on Natasha's face and her comment to me. "Babe, we don't look like we're broke." I replied, "Natasha, (you know when a husband use the first name its serious), even though we don't look broke, WE IS BROKE!" This was and to this day still is one of the lowest seasons of our life, but it forced me to get serious with God and our business. What happens next still is UNREAL to me, but was the catalyst for getting us to where we are today. On a regular Sunday morning, our pastor, Dr. Matthew Stevenson brings up his wife to share a story of a financial breakthrough they had experienced. She then said, "I believe there are some of you in here who are gripped with the spirit of mammon." This spirit is causing you to have a bad relationship with money, and you need to break the cycle. They challenged everyone to give a seed of $1,000 in obedience to this. I called Natasha who was at home with Harvest, "Babe we need a breakthrough" We sowed in obedience, but here is the prayer I prayed that day. "God, I don't want another check in the mail, or just another job, I want a idea that will catapult us into our next for our business so that this SEED becomes our TITHE" A few weeks later while on a webinar, we got the idea for The One University. We went from food stamps to 7 figures in the matter of MONTHS with 571 students signing up in our first launch. I want to encourage you right now, the key to your next breakthrough may not be a new job, or a check in the mail, it may be you working an idea from God. GET SPECIFIC with God and WATCH HIM WORK!
