Farewell to a queen of Sabi Sands She was the oldest of the adult Nkuhuma lionesses. A daughter of the Matimba males. And the sister of Junior who would later become famously known as one of the Orpen males in the Manyeleti. Now the Purple-Eyed Nkuhuma lioness has sadly been found dead at Londolozi. After suffering from an injury for a long time that caused permanent damage and led to an atrophied hindleg, the journey of this widely known lioness has come to an end at the age of 10 years. As a mother and grandmother she greatly contributed to the success of the Nkuhuma pride and cared deeply for the survival of the pride’s offspring till the very end. She was a strong lioness who left her marks in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve for the generations to come. We pay our respect for a queen, a warrior and a mother.
