Taking Vivid For a Spin. 🌠. _ It's been so good to see Vivid back after 2 years. After shooting Vivid in 2019 I tried to think of shot ideas. I had a few pop into my head. But over the years as Vivid kept getting cancelled, I would often ask myself - what shot I do I want to create? This one came to mind. Everytime. I needed a dark clear cloudless sky with no moon. As I kept an eye on the weather the forecast was for clouds... Then on the first Sunday afternoon of Vivid the forecast changed - clear, no moon. Why did it have to be on a Sunday 😱😭?! (I had work the next day haha). I thought f*ck it, I may not get another chance this year and went ahead. Looking back there really wasn't another chance. The bridge being lit up on the west side worked out amazingly for this shot. The west side wasn't lit the previous years. Another surprise was the Paramount + Vivid drone show which I didn't know about until a ton of people started gathering around. A huge thank you to the organisers and staff of Vivid Sydney for the opportunity to get this idea out of my head 🙏. Right Horizon glow taken after sunset. General scene and Vivid specific elements taken from 6pm - 11pm. Star Trails taken from 11pm - 2am. Shoot start - 4:45pm. Shoot end - 2am. Water Consumed - 0L Toilet breaks - 1 Near collisions with unaware people- 3 Cold level - much cold All shots taken with in the same spot.
