Hope For The Hurting update ✨ In the event you missed my announcement earlier this week, I wanted to mention once again that every single painting Sophie @taylor_design_studio and I created has been sent home to your precious people. Additionally, some thoughts: As the lyric goes “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” And for those of us who celebrate Christmas at its core, this is profoundly true; however those words can be difficult to digest at what is also unequivocally the hardest time of year. For those navigating death, diagnoses, divorce, miscarriage, debt, continued illness and estrangement from family, wavering faith in light of so much loss. But as I laid in bed this morning, I considered the Christmas story once more. The beautiful story of love come down. And I remembered that beauty and hard often bloom as one flower. The petals ascending up over the thorns. Christmas IS hard. The road to the manger was HARD. And there is not a single one of us unscathed from significant suffering, despite what these virtual squares say. I can only imagine that existing as God within the inadequate casing of humanity must’ve been so very hard. Yet, love wins and beauty abounds. If you’re reading this and you have felt the weight of Christmas upon your shoulders, I only wanted to say there is space for those feelings. There is beauty in your hard. And you are not alone in the carrying of it. To Sophie, my partner in this endeavor, it was an honor to create these with you! Thank you for rising to the occasion and being willing to use your tremendous skill, though most importantly your love for Jesus, to write the beauty back into the hard.
