None of us started out as professional photographers. Not even the hair gods we obsess over on Instagram. It’s taken me years to learn how to capture + edit good content. And of course, when I look back at my older content I laugh/cringe + then reflect on my progress over the years — Both my photography skills + my hair skills 🙃 Before + After photos: 💥Send clients their before & after photos to show them how beautiful they are, how epic their hair transformation is + how dang talented you are! 💥Ever get totally finished with a big color appointment + think “Fuck. Does it even look different?!” Being able to compare the B+A shots helps both you + the client see the improvements made. 💥For clients with color correcting, previous hair damage, etc. it’s helpful to look back and see where you guys started + how much progress has been made over time. 💥These same photos can be used as examples for new clients when explaining “the process.” The realistic steps or stages of achieving their goal color. Maybe you don’t think your work is worthy. Maybe you feel awkward asking your client to take photos, or giving them direction. Maybe you’re too busy. Maybe it’s raining. Maybe (insert excuse here) 📸Take the dang photos! Don’t be to critical of yourself. Don’t fear the uncomfortable. Don’t make excuses.
