Two weeks ago @touching_bass released SOON COME. I’ve needed a bit of time to take it all in💞 (also to be completely honest, I’m exhausted) This huge labour of love has taught me more than I could ever have imagined about patience, perseverance and confidence, but also about friendship and community. In autumn 2019, before covid turned the world upside down @errol.and and @sammseed and I set out to put together a compilation celebrating all the incredible friends/artist we’ve been so lucky to share space with over the years, both at home and overseas. Artist who are the foundation of our global musical community. Little did we know that this huge undertaking would be what carried us through an immensely mentally and emotionally challenging time in our lives (Covid). We also didn’t realise the amount of late nights it would take to make it all come together. Having not had any spare time for my own creative endeavours over the last 2 years seeing our billboard with all of our friends next to where it all started; on @nts_radio in Gillet Square, makes me feel so emotional and full of love and passion for what can be created when you work on shared a dream with people who support and believe in the vision as much as you do. @sammseed @naimaadams_ @errol.and – Thank you for everything that you are - team work truly makes the dream work. I love the 3 of you to the sun and back. 🚀🌞 From the beginning of SOON COME I had a vision for the artwork, that I wanted it to feel like the TB Dance. Our sacred little musical oasis, full of colour, openness and smiling familiar faces! I spent around 6 weeks from December 2021 til mid Jan 2022 drawing, collating images, cutting them out and trying a million different options for the collages. And somehow I think managed to pull the exact vision I had out of my brain - which is THE most fulfilling feeling ever😌 Thank you all the artist for being part of SOON COME, and to all who have listened, bought a record, written a review, told us your favourite track, or just shared the music.
