I always felt seen with my Grandma. She looked at me like I could conquer the world. She sang to me “you are my sunshine” when I was feeling nervous before taking me to auditions and rode the Tower of Terror with me at MGM 3 times in a row because we “had to have fun while we could.” When I would get sad or things would get tough, she would say to me, it’s “memories.” Saying goodbye to my favorite family member today is bittersweet. Only because she lived such a beautiful life with endless “memories.” This week will go down as one of the hardest but I’m singing “you are my sunshine” to myself in her honor.
