Pride season is more than just the month of June and for many organisations in our community... it never was! Our movement here in the UK was started on the 1st July 1972 by the @gayliberationfrontuk trailblazers who took to the streets of London to march for LGBTQ+ liberation and equality. On the 50th anniversary of that monumental day - Friday 1st July, our amazing Business Development Manager Bisila Noha @bisilanoha was there and she gave a powerful speech announcing that with the support of @southwarkcouncil our space The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre @ldnlgbtqcentre will be open for the next 5 years!!! Thank you to every single person who has supported the centre in the last 5 years enabling us all to get to this point and to every person who has walked through our doors, donated their time and/or money and as you continue to support us 🙌🏾 A special thank you to @mikesegalov and @mxalleyway for everything you have done to support this project from the very beginning, it was your energy and the collective energy of everyone at the first meeting at The Scolt Head that has helped get us here ✨✨ @jaydothedishes @sarahmoorexo @megankey___ @angoosinho @bisilanoha @hellomynameistomnicetomeetyoux #Lip #Rachael and #Martin - this has been an absolute labour of love and I am so grateful to work together and be a part of this amazing amazing team.
