Threadless- no threads, no twisting, smooth on the outside, comfortable to wear, easy to put on 2. Internally Threaded- twist or screw on, smooth on the outside because the threads are on the inside of the post, safe for piercings, CAN be a pain to put in 3. Externally Threaded- (🤢) screw on, threads are on the outside of the post, can damage ears, harbor loads of bacteria, the ball is SO tricky to get on Say no to externally threaded earrings, if you want to keep your piercings safe!
