True story about Roksanda Ilinčić When @edward_enninful was appointed editor in chief at @britishvogue, my friend @naomieharris took me to his party as her plus one. Which was typically lovely of her... But I had never been to a Vogue party. Or any fashion party before. Deciding what to wear was epic stress! I did have a skirt by @roksandailincic who is one of my favourite designers ever. So I wore that. At the party, this beautiful woman came up to me and said “you’re wearing my skirt”. Defensively, and feeling a bit insecure around all these impeccably styled fashion people, I said, “no it’s mine. I bought it”. She smiled sweetly, put her hand on my shoulder and said, “no I mean, it’s one of my pieces, I am Roksanda”. 🤣🙈🫠 It was so far from my reality then to be in a world where I would be mingling with the designer who created my outfit, that had honestly not occurred to me.
