I had the honor and privilege of coaching this amazing group of young ladies for the past two years. I could write a novel about our journey over that time, but there wouldn’t be enough room here. It was incredibly special and so much more than just the game of basketball. I couldn’t have done it without @michellebugni and am forever thankful for her friendship. We jumped into this together and fell right in step like no time had passed since we played basketball together. Coaching is a ton of time, but my family approved and did it ALL with me. Conrad, officially our team manager, loves each of these girls like they are his sisters. And Toby, our oldest happened to be the same age as this group, so these girls are his peers and classmates - and now, some of his best friends. All three of our boys are huge supporters of girl’s/women’s athletics - and the cool thing, these girls support our boys in their endeavors right back. These girls and their incredible parents and families enriched the lives of our family. We spent A LOT of time together - from weekends full of non-stop basketball and travel to all the team bonding and memories made in between - parades, halloween parties, haunted tours, Christmas parties, outlet shopping, bowling, summer camps, 3v3 tourneys, and so much more. I was able to witness these girls absolutely blossom - on and off the court! They grew up right in front of my eyes and best of all are kind humans in this world. I have no doubt they will continue to be great examples, leaders, friends, students, employees, etc. etc. and shine in any and all areas they are involved with moving forward. Coaching can be so much more than teaching concepts and skills of a sport, at least it is for me. I will always cherish the time I had with these young ladies and the opportunity to help them grow in all the ways I could offer insight. Thankful for another generation of sisterhood and extended family, and I can’t wait to see all they do in high school and beyond! The boys and I will be cheering for you all! Champions on 3.... 👏🏻🏀🥰🥳
