I'll be the first to say I often get disillusioned when it feels like you can fight as hard as you can for something but still see no change because the system is stacked against change. Derek Chauvin's conviction today is a drop in the bucket of accountability. It's a win for sure and worth feeling good about, but it's not justice. It's accountability and that is the first step towards justice. To me, justice is the defunding of police and abolishing of prisons to start. Justice is true freedom, and that's worth the fight.
